online earning
online earning
A few years ago, I quit my job and decided to start an online business instead. I found many tips for how to start a successful blog but the best ones came from someone else. The best part of this post is that I have shared it with you. This is a great way to look at earning.
Before starting this article, let me introduce myself. I am a 24 year old writer who has just started to study creative writing. My main focus was on creative nonfiction work and I wanted to write about it. For a while, the only books I liked were those written by people like Ernest Hemingway, John Cheever, Neil Gaiman, or even J.K. Rowling.
I read some of these before deciding to try blogging, but none of them seemed to really make sense. What seems more logical is something like the following:
The Internet's first monetization (online) happened in the 1990s when Yahoo.com became the most popular search engine in 1998 (it started out as Ask.com)
The internet boom started in 1999 and continued until 2003, when Google dominated online search engines
The dot com bust was in early 2001 and continued through to mid 2002
In 2006 after two quarters, Amazon replaced eBay as the largest seller in the US online market, reaching $1 billion in sales in 2008
All of these are true. As long as this list is correct, they all apply to anyone interested in making money. So, let us be honest, there is no “right way” to go about your life. If you want to start a YouTube channel or build social media pages, then, that is fine. If you want to start selling t-shirts or hats, do that. If you want to become a certified health coach, and that is what you would love to continue doing as a career. That is where money comes in to help you achieve whatever you want to see happen. It also applies if you want to sell your handmade goods or clothing on Etsy, Facebook, Instagram or any platform that can allow you to earn some money through platforms such as Fiverr, Guru, Behance .
We have been on this topic on our podcast so here are the 3 steps on starting a good blog or a website that will eventually bring in revenue for you.
1. Build what makes your heart sing. Don't give up just yet.
Don't wait for others to tell you what needs to happen. Figure everything out for yourself, not for someone else, and don't let anyone tell you that you are wrong just because you didn't choose your path
When I started creating content on Vocal, I had no clue about SEO. All I knew was how to use WordPress to create stories and posts for a particular story. I quickly learned about how to link to specific posts and how to optimize them so my articles could rank well in Google search results for whatever keyword I would write . To date, I still haven't quite mastered what I am going to teach you next. But, as time went on, the knowledge just kept growing. Here is one example from five months ago when we talk about SEO for beginners.
3. Write every day even if you are completely uninspired.
When I wrote 100 articles yesterday, I didn't care, I wrote them all. Even if I didn't feel particularly inspired to begin the next day. When I wrote 200 a month ago, I didn't care either. I had already done 500, 600 and 700. And now it's time to write 1000. Again, no inspiration. Nothing but the desire to keep writing and grow into the person I want to become. At least I think that is going to result in growth.
I always take lessons on writing from different authors. There is nothing better than reading their works. Also, there is nothing worse than thinking you are going to learn something new. When you can’t stop writing, and when you write every single day for two weeks straight, you will realize that you are learning more and becoming smarter every day
Now, you might wonder who is Andrew Sullivan, right? He is best known for his books about entrepreneurship and he is currently producing series called "The Entrepreneur." Not only does Andrew show you how to find your own niche and stand out, he shows you how to write for almost every niche possible.
This guy's career started in Silicon Valley for startups and businesses of all kinds. And, Andrew also created successful e-books about getting started. As you gain experience, you can find your own place within the world, a place where you have the freedom to choose what you want to write about. You want to be able to choose which type of books you want to produce. Maybe to sell on Amazon or your own website on whatever platform you're building to attract readers.
One way to get yourself out there is to try being your own boss and learning as much as you can about anything you love. Whether it's creating content, teaching others how to do what you do, setting up a blog to sell your products, or simply trying to get to grips with new technology to turn your hobby into something that will actually pay off . Yes, there is a lot of hard work involved but when something feels good and it brings in revenue, why wouldn't you give it a shot?
